In solidarity with Freedom & Captivity, and with support from the Crewe Foundation, Indigo Arts Alliance (IAA) hosted a workshop series at the Southern Maine Women’s Reentry Center. The first workshop featured poet Arisa White, Professor of Creative Writing at Colby College. Indigo Arts Alliance’s Co-Founder and Artist Director, Daniel Minter led the second workshop. For the latter, the IAA Team brought together an intimate group of incarcerated women and their children to explore themes of home, connection, love, and tenderness. In preparation for the workshop, Daniel provided a full stamping kit, with pre-carved stamps, ink pads, a sketchbook, and a pre-stamped postcard for the women and children to share their work and connect with their loved ones.
This workshop took place on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021.
