History and New Futures

Welcome to 2030
  • Eno Laget (II)

pochoir with hand embellishments on reclaimed real estate sign board, 2021.

Artist Statement

Welcome to 2030 is a large pochoir print with hand embellishments. It is an anatomy of intolerance. Themes are structural racism, voting rights, the surveillance state, marginalization, scapegoating, islamophobia and the future of late-stage capitalism. In Arabic, bottom right, it says “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This is a quote from MLK Jr.
